Le Sony FX3A est équipé d'un capteur plein format de 10,2 mégapixels qui permet de réaliser de superbes vidéos 4K jusqu'à 120p, avec d'excellentes performances en basse lumière et une mise au point automatique en temps réel pour une netteté optimale dans toutes les situations. Sa stabilisation d'image intégrée sur 5 axes garantit des images fluides, tandis que son système de refroidissement innovant permet d'enregistrer en 4K pendant de longues périodes sans surchauffe. L'appareil photo dispose de commandes intuitives, de la couleur S-Cinetone, de la sortie S-Log3 et RAW 16 bits, ainsi que de la prise en charge de la désqueeze anamorphique. Il s'intègre parfaitement aux objectifs à monture E de Sony et comprend des fonctionnalités audio professionnelles via la poignée XLR. L'application Sony Monitor & Control permet un fonctionnement à distance sans fil, faisant du FX3 un choix polyvalent et durable pour toute production.
