Le modèle SL3 Reporter s’inscrit dans une longue tradition d’appareils conçus pour une robustesse maximale. La peinture mate résistante aux rayures en vert olive et le revêtement en fibre d’aramide assurent une fonctionnalité optimale, même dans les conditions les plus extrêmes, tout en conférant à l’appareil l’esthétique singulière qui fait la renommée du design « Reporter ». Cette variante de conception repose sur la technologie de pointe de la Leica SL3. Son capteur plein format de 60 MP avec technologie Triple Resolution permet de capturer des images en 60, 36 ou 18 mégapixels, ainsi que des vidéos jusqu’en 8K.
